BREAKING NEWS – 18.01.2024

In a press release of January 16, 2024, Mondo TV SpA (“the Group”), which is active in the market for the production and exploitation of animated television series, announced that it has launched the new animated series Grisù, co-produced with its subsidiary Mondo Tv France.

In particular, the series was launched on Rai Yoyo, the most popular channel for children in Italy, with two daily shows and immediately managed to win the affection of a large audience. Subsequently, the premiere was organized during the Sottodiciotto Film Festival, held in the historic Cinema Massimo in Turin, where the first four episodes were exclusively shown.

An extensive licensing development plan for the series is expected during the year; in fact, Mondo TV France has already signed an agreement with GIOCHI PREZIOSI, Europe’s leading toy manufacturer and distributor, aimed at the development and distribution of the toy line in Italy and the right of first option to extend the license worldwide. The new agreement adds to several partnerships the Group holds with leading companies in Italy in various sectors, such as Gruppo Giunti for the Publishing category, Ravensburger for Puzzle & Games, Commodore for App & VideoGame, Fondazione Aida for Musical and Thekom for events. Internationally, there are plans to expand the licensing program in various markets, for example, an agreement has been closed with the Chinese VOD platform Youku, part of the ALIBABA group, to launch the series during 2024.

The new series is based on the property Il draghetto Grisù, created by authors Nino and Toni Pagot; the producers are the Mondo TV Group, Calidra, Toon2Tango and ZDF Studios, while the rights are managed by Mondo TV Suisse and Mondo TV France.

Taking into consideration the press release, and waiting to observe the outcome of the operation, we confirm our recommendation: target price € U/R, rating U/R and risk MEDIUM.
