BREAKING NEWS – 31.05.2023
In the press release of 25 May 2023, Solid World Group SpA, the Group’s leading company in digital technologies, 3D printing and manufacturing, announced the start of distribution on the Italian market of the new 3D printer Shop System Forust Edition, produced by the American company Desktop Metal, the first printer in the world capable of making prints using wood powder as an additive material. The sale will be managed by SolidManufacturing, the Group’s business unit based in Bentivoglio (BO). The printer model can produce isotropic wood parts by utilizing waste materials from the wood industry, such as lignin and sawdust, from, for example, home construction and furniture component processing, with an eye toward a circular approach. Among the most relevant target sectors for products made with the printer is the automotive industry, particularly the creation of wooden components for car interiors. In addition, Shop System Forust Edition can make parts for the consumer, interior design, furniture and musical instrument sectors. As for the design of the parts to be printed and the management of the additive manufacturing process, these are fully digitized and managed through Solid World’s proprietary software, thus allowing the user to freely create the print design and make it according to their needs. Trentino Sviluppo SpA, a company of the Autonomous Province of Tento operating in business support, innovation and territorial marketing, will be the first to use the printer in the country. The model will be used within the ProM Facility laboratories, a prototype development center of the Rovereto Mechatronics Cluster, to carry out industrial research and innovation activities and to prototype components through the new machine printing technology. Currently, under installation, Shop System Forust Edition will be operational and functioning by early summer 2023. Roberto Rizzo, Founder and Chairman of Solid World Group, declared: “We have introduced to Italy a highly innovative and unique technology that can make objects and components from the waste material of wood processing. A technology that hence aims to enhance a product that would otherwise be wasted, to make production processes more sustainable. 3D printing technology is able to make a concrete contribution to the improvement of Italian industry with a view to the circular economy.” Taking into account the press release, we confirm our recommendation: target price € 9.15, BUY rating and risk MEDIUM. |
